I am a Junior Professor at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, affiliated with the LIRIS Research Lab. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS).
My research sits at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Data Management. I investigate how to integrate human perspectives and computational methods in the design, development, and deployment of data-intensive applications. My goal is to build systems that are not just efficient, but that are responsive to human characteristics, needs, and values.
My current work spans three main directions:
- Human-Centric Graph Data Management — interactive and user-driven approaches to graph database repair, query formulation, and causal analysis.
- Crowdsourcing and Human-in-the-Loop Systems — quality-aware human-in-the-loop algorithms for data collection, integration, and analysis.
- Empathy-Centric Design — tools and methods for embedding empathy into participatory design and policy-making.
I hold a PhD from Politecnico di Milano, where I developed methodologies for crowd and social-based application design.
